Low Flow No. 1 — Oscillate (Shoulder Stand, Waves & the Breath Layer)

A 45-second-to-a-minute low flow set to Miguel's "Oscillate" — slow, grounded, and built around a shoulder stand we break down before it ever shows up in the combo. We start with a warm-up, then take the shoulder stand apart piece by piece so it feels supported, not scary. From there you'll learn the full choreo, watch it demoed, and then drop into the part that makes this a Sensation Lab lesson and not just a routine.

The Sensation Layer: once the choreo lives in your body, the work becomes the breath. Inhale to invite a move, exhale to release it. You're not performing the sequence — you're letting it arrive and let go on your own breath. Naya Somanya walks you through one move from the combo so you can feel exactly how to play with that edge, then you take the concept into the rest of the flow.

Technique you'll take away: playing with the edge of your heel, body waves and undulations, a glide, the shoulder stand, leg waves, and a backwards twizzle on static — a distinct way of traveling around a static pole.

How to integrate this into your practice

Don't just learn it and bank it. Once the choreo is in your body, use it as a canvas. Return to it with a different prompt each time — lead everything from the breath one day, chase the heel-edge another, slow the whole thing to half-speed the next — so the same minute of movement keeps revealing something new. The choreo is fixed; how you inhabit it isn't.
